Welcome! This is the home of the Plymouth High School Media Center. This site is a portal for student research and library interaction. This site is meant to further the learning that takes place in PHS classrooms. The media center staff is available to help with the gathering of resources however this site extends our capability beyond school hours. The media center is more than just books. With the increase of technology more of a need to access resources is imperative. This site is meant to serve those needs of students and staff here at Plymouth High School. Through the use of the links listed at left students can begin to access the many tools provided them. My goal as Media Specialist is to aid students in their search for specific information; print or electronic. Featured Links: POWERSEARCH - Gale's one stop shopping for student research - search SRC Gold & Opposing Viewpoints simultaneously!!

Looking for some help on using some online databases? Maybe just a brush up of tips and tricks. Click the corresponding buttons above. See page here for short podcasts of this year's Rosie Books. Remember students vote for your favorites! Cool & New! The Rosie master list is a combination of ALL past books. Each year a book is nominated state-wide by school libraries and a winner is selected. Many if not all of these titles are housed in the PHS Media Center collection. Come check one out!
Thanks to Brian Kunze for helping me create a virtual tour of the LMC. Collaborative Link: Ever wonder how you can do a group project where you share your documents and never have to work on the same computer all together at the same time? By creating a wiki groups can collaboratively work on their research posting items to the wiki. Featured Site: Project Gutenberg is a free online warehouse to electronic books. Students you no longer have to physically be on campus or in the library to read great classic works of literature. The link above leads to their extensive online catalog of classic works. Users have the option of browsing by AUTHOR, TITLE, LANGUAGE, or what has RECENTLY been posted to their site. Also of interest may be their collection of audiobooks. Yes you can listen over your ISP connection or download to your I-POD for portability. |
